Professional Experience:
- Design and implementation of multi-year projects on Aid Effectiveness, Human Security, Natural Resource and Environmental Management, Governance, Migration, Political Economy, and Peace Building, generating over 70 technical reports, policy briefs, and scholarly papers.
- Development of research proposals on inclusion of persons with disabilities in humanitarian aid, impact of conflict on international aid, and the interface between protracted conflict trauma and international aid.
- Leading and co-leading over 40 systematic project and program evaluations.
- Collaborating with Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, to design and deliver Master’s level courses and training modules in Project/Program Cycle Management, Applied Research in Conflict Environments, Evidence-based Advocacy, Critical Thinking, Gender Analysis in Conflict Environments, MEAL (Monitoring & Evaluations, Accountability, and Learning), Using Governance Data in Anti-corruption, and Policy and Institutional Analysis.
- Raising over 10 million USD for research and monitoring projects in Afghanistan with a focus on women’s rights and fundamental human rights.
- Mentoring teams of national research staff on problem definition, development of theory of change, logframe development, research design, data analysis, and report writing.
- Building collaborative relationships between international aid providers and academic communities to develop cross-certified graduate courses for delivery in Afghanistan.
- Developing and sustaining close professional relationships with donor agencies, academic institutions, and state authorities through transparent and clear communication to document different viewpoints, resolve conflicts, build consensus, and offer constructive and positive feedback for innovative solutions to meet strategic objectives.
- Training over 1,000 national and international professionals from civil society, governmental entities, and international NGOs in partnership with Ruhr University Bochum to award successful candidates with the European university system’s ECTS credits.
