Professional Experience:

Professional experience mainly consists of short-term contracts to accommodate my studies. I have worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Government of Canada and an Accounting Assistant for the Government of Saskatchewan/Canada. I have significant experience in the area of special event management which involves customer service, stakeholder engagement, crisis management, social media and website communications responsibilities with the Saskatoon Fringe Festival and On Purpose Events in Canada. I also have experience as a Program Counsellor at a summer camp for people with disabilities in Canada.

Education:

I will soon graduate with a Masters degree in International Security from the University of Bath, UK. I completed a 15,000 word dissertation on the role, operations, and contributions of the Canadian Rangers with the Canadian Military in the arctic which includes the lands and waters within the territories of Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. The Canadian Rangers are a part-time, non-commissioned, community-based subcomponent of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Reserve. Eighty percent of the Rangers in the Territorial North are Indigenous.

My research question asked whether the Canadian Rangers, as a separate autonomous and decentralised subcomponent organisation (with distinct non-military culture and traditions), are a “force multiplier” for the CAF in contributing to national and continental defence and security, enhancing Canada’s sovereignty over the region, and supporting Canadian government-wide responsibilities in northern communities.

I also have Bachelors degree in Political Studies and History and a Certificate in International Studies from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada
