Professional Experience:

I have about a year and a half of professional experience and a year of international experience. I have worked at one of the leading NGOs focused on human development, the International Republican Institute. While I was there, I spent time wearing many hats. Some of my tasks were administrative such as keeping the workflow software in order, managing databases and email servers, and scheduling meetings. Others were more fulfilling such as my experience creating a blog post for International Radio Day. I was tasked with connecting with their local partners in Nigeria, interviewing this person, conducting more outside research, and then creating a story on the history of Nigeria's use of Radio to increase human development. I have spent time in both Cuba and Israel being immersed in the culture while also working to improve local conditions. In Cuba, I lived with a family for two weeks while helping to educate them on American culture and helping them with household tasks. While I was in Israel, I stayed in a community that was mixed with Palestinian nationals and Israeli nationals. This was a very powerful and influential experience for me. While I was in Israel, I worked at an Israeli NGO for two months and helped to build the capacity to deter anti-semitism on the internet.

Education:

I have completed both a Bachelors and Masters degree in International Relations from the University of Maryland at College Park.
The MAIR program provides training for students with career goals centered on research and analysis that require sophisticated applied research and analysis of international relations issues. This master's program is a 30-credit graduate program that includes coursework in international political economy, international security, international law, and statistical methods of data analysis for international relations research questions. The curriculum emphasizes developing research and analysis skills based on a solid background in international relations theory and quantitative empirical research.
