July 2020 – May 2021 Master in Public Health Institut Continental d’Apprentissage pour le Développement de l’Entrepreneuriat Social (ICADES), Nouakchott It is a 12-month training course with 4 training modules [Module 1: Human and social sciences, Communication for Development and Sustainable human development policies and strategies; Module2: Management of health systems and health costs; Module3: Biostatistics & Epidemiology; Module4: Humanitarian Assistance (Emergencies and Development) and Nutrition and Food Security]. I did a 30-day internship after the 4 modules and I also submitted an end of studies thesis. The content of this training focuses on the appropriation of approaches capable of resolving health and livelihood priorities in an emergency and development context. This training has improved my skills in the analysis of the health determinants; identify health priorities, and develop related projects Sep 1997 – Oct 2005 Medical Degree Public University of Burundi, Faculty of Medicine, Bujumbura It is a training of 7 academic years: 5 years of theoretical courses and 2 years of internships. The internship takes place in teaching hospitals in different departments, including a stay in the interior of the country for a community health internship. I did a thesis to validate my training as a Doctor of Medicine. Sep 2012 – Dec 2012 Introduction to International Health (IIH), Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp This course provides a broad introduction to international health. The focus is on determinants of health, poverty-related health problems in low-and middle-income societies, and principles of public health. It encompasses disease prevention and control, health system organization, health policy, and laboratory organization in resource-limited settings. The systems approach and the specific inputs from social sciences will help students grasp the complex picture of health and health care in low-resource settings.
