Professional Experience:
I am a public health professional with MD in Community Medicine from a premier Govt. Medical College in India. I have around 10 years of experience in various capacities with diverse organizations and institutes in Govt., private and development sector. The wide range of challenges across all sectors of public health and need to find the appropriate, comprehensive and realistic solutions keep me motivated to work towards it relentlessly. The professional expertise garnered over these years has enabled me to contribute towards number of public health interventions and programs at field as well as policy levels.

Most of the time in my public health career, I have played key role of team leader and project manager in various domains like immunization, disease surveillance, communicable diseases like TB, encephalitis, health system strengthening and evidence based policy making. I have developed expertise in large project management (around 300 employee) including finances and logistics, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, supportive supervision. Proficient managerial skills, in depth technical knowledge and strategic thinking enabled me to create visible impact during implementation of Mission Indradhanush, new vaccine introduction, special immunization for high risk and marginalized groups and The Global Fund supported TB elimination project. My thorough understanding of the health and other administrative systems from village to national level has been instrumental for development of realistic, rational and practical strategies of programme implementation. The advocacy and liasioning skills with variety of stakeholders will help me to work effectively with National, State and District level and develop synergies for the benefit of the program as well as for organization at large. The operational and implementation research, epidemiological and statistical analytical acumen will help me to develop evidence driven action plans and provide scientific technical support for immunization and system strengthening. Writing high quality grant proposals (including financial statements) for wide range of donors like USAID, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UNICEF, WHO, corporates like Northern Coalfields India, Dr. Lal Path Lab, etc. have been one of my professional strengths. Many of these proposals resulted in successful outcomes.

Apart from that, I would like to emphasize on the competencies that I have acquired and nurtured over these years of professional and personal life. I am not only a good leader but also a team builder in a real sense. I put myself before the team when there is a question of accountability and responsibility and the team in front for all kinds of appreciation. I am well versed with large program management techniques and skills along with strategic foresight for always leading the program in the desired direction. The thorough understanding of socio-economic-cultural-political milieu of working country allows me an upper hand during advocacy and liasioning with multiple stakeholders. The scientific understanding of NCDs, disease surveillance, grant writing, health economics, planning and policy making will definitely help me in achieving my deliverables within tight timelines. I have also acquired specialized skills of "Theatre of the Oppressed" which proved helpful in behavior change communication for various public health issues.

To summarize, I am striving to work towards universal health coverage with equitable and just distribution of health services to all irrespective of race, cast, creed, color, gender, color, ability and any other factor.
