Professional Experience:
I had the privilege of working with two premiere policy think-tanks in India- Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), a think-tank under the Ministry of External Affairs of India; and Vivekananda International Foundation (VIF); as a Research Fellow. While working in ICWA, I had prepared a policy paper on ‘India-Vietnam Strategic Partnership: Exploring Vistas for an Expanded Cooperation’, which was submitted to the two governments in December 2012; and a ‘List of Recommendations’ which was submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office before his acclaimed visit to Myanmar in May 2012. I had also co-edited two books on the same topics. Similarly, while working at VIF I had written two articles analyzing the triple disasters in Japan. Besides, I had prepared three synopses on how to strengthen India-Japan relations in high-tech sectors, along-with a number of other publications.
Later, I moved to a corporate as a senior research analyst in a shipping consultancy. There my role was to look after global crude oil market and analyze its effect on tanker shipping demand. I had authored many of the company’s flagship publications like- Tanker Forecaster, Product Tanker Market report, monthly shipping insights, besides a number of consultancy projects.
Since 2010, I have been a member of ‘Grand Designs of Japan’ Project in Keio Business School, Tokyo, where I had often spoken on contemporary issues of mutual concern, from bilateral and regional perspective. I also had the privilege of being associated with Gakushuin University, Tokyo, where I was invited as a visiting scholar in the ‘institute for oriental cultures’ in 2019, and as a member of ‘Countries around China’ project in 2012.
