Kojo Asiamah Addo is a seasoned social policy and communications professional with over a decade of experience in social advocacy, community development, and corporate communications. He currently serves as a Project Officer for Campaigns and Communications at Education International Africa, where he has successfully orchestrated the implementation of significant advocacy campaigns, including the Go Public and Global Response initiatives. His role involves strategic event planning, stakeholder engagement, and conducting needs assessments, all aimed at achieving targeted campaign objectives and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Before his current position, Kojo led policy advocacy and engagements at Social Watch Africa, a personal community service project, since January 2014. In this capacity, he effectively utilized media and community advocacy to enhance awareness and facilitate citizen participation in local and central government policies. His strategic design and implementation of multimedia strategies during the 2016 and 2020 general elections in Ghana significantly contributed to the successful campaigns of various political candidates.
From August 2016 to January 2019, Kojo served as the Communication & Media Relations Officer at Good Governance Africa. He developed comprehensive communication frameworks that streamlined stakeholder engagement, enhancing both internal and external collaboration. Kojo’s innovative approach to social advocacy includes crafting impactful communication content across multiple media platforms, thereby maximizing audience engagement and awareness.
In his earlier role as a Research/Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at Good Governance Africa, he was responsible for leading comprehensive evaluations of the organization's methodologies. His contributions included designing robust data-collection instruments and drafting evaluation reports to communicate findings effectively. His strategic policy advice helped identify opportunities to enhance the effectiveness and impact of the organization's activities.
Kojo’s journey began as a PR & Research Officer at Innovare Africa, where he collaborated with corporate partners to develop capacity-building modules tailored to the needs of diverse stakeholders. His ability to foster collaborative relationships and execute innovative public relations campaigns has consistently driven stakeholder satisfaction and engagement.
With a Master’s degree in Public Administration and a strong foundation in communication studies, Kojo combines academic excellence with practical expertise. Kojo Asiamah Addo holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Ghana Institute of Public Management and Administration, which he completed from September 2018 to June 2020. This advanced degree has equipped him with essential skills in governance, public policy, and organizational management, enhancing his ability to navigate the complexities of the social sector.
Before his master’s degree, Kojo earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the African University College of Communications, where he studied from January 2012 to May 2014. This foundational education provided him with comprehensive knowledge in communication strategies, media relations, and public engagement, crucial for his roles in social advocacy and corporate communications.
In addition to his formal education, Kojo has pursued various professional development opportunities to further enhance his expertise. He obtained an Executive Certificate in Corporate Leadership in 2018, which underscores his commitment to effective leadership in organizational contexts.
