Peter Kegode has over 25 years of experience and practice in Leadership, Food & Nutrition Security, Strategic Management, and Financial Management, Training and Mentorship, gained from private and public sectors. Kegode has been instrumental in the formation, institution strengthening and mentoring of the following leading organizations, Eastern and Southern Africa Dairy Association (ESADA), Africa Cotton & Textile Industry Federation (ACTIF), Eastern Africa Grain Council, (EAGC) Eastern Africa Fine Coffee Association (EAFCA), Kenya Cooperative Coffee Exporters (KCCE) Kenya Agribusiness & Agro Industry Alliance (KAAA), Western Agribusiness Investment Platform (WAIP), Eastern Africa Brazil Trade Expo, Argentina Trade Exposition. SDF Sugar Development Fund. Kegode has lectured in agribusiness on part-time basis at GIMPA, in ACCRA Ghana, Strathmore Business School and Strathmore School of Governance. Nairobi, Kenya. Supervision of Agribusiness value chains studies exchange programs between Egerton University, Strathmore University and Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School of Governance.
He assisted in designing the sugar development fund for Kenya and assisted in the restructuring of the sugar sector in Eastern Africa. Peter is also part of the team that negotiated Kenya’s readmission into ACP-EU sugar protocol and participated in lobbying for ACP sugar industry caucus at WTO forums. He has wide regional and international experience gained from working in over twenty countries in Africa, EU, USA, and Latin America. Peter also worked as debt management analyst and derivative specialist with First Trust in St Paul, Minnesota and was responsible for overseeing large portfolio of securitized mortgage obligations, including managing casino rentals in Midwest and East Coast. Peter has worked and consulted for International development organizations including Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), PTA Bank, FAST International, BP Biofuels, First Trust Investments, Chemonics, Nathan Associates, Care International, and Action Aid International
