Stella Paul is a multiple award-winning journalist and media development professional. She currently manages Clean Air Catalyst - a USAID-funded global project on clean air and STOP Spillover - a USAID-funded global project on One Health – at Earth Journalism Network (EJN) of Internews. Stella also serves as a mentor for EJN’s Indigenous Reporting project. She has been working as a multimedia journalist, trainer and a communicator for over a decade. Stella grew up in northeastern India, where floods rendered her family homeless several times, an experience that later drove her into environmental journalism. She has reported from over 30 countries around the world so far and trained over 500 women journalists and activist-bloggers worldwide. For her gender-sensitive environmental reporting on marginalized communities, she has won dozens of international and local awards, including the Courage in Journalism award from the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) and the Global Trailblazers Award from the European Commission. In 2014, the global advocacy group Women Deliver listed her as one of the 14 Most Powerful Writers on Women and Girls Health and Rights. Stella has a post-graduate degree in Literature, a post-graduate diploma in Environmental Law and a diploma in online journalism.
