  • Human Rights, Law, Migration, Conflicts, Justice
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, Policy, Research, Analysis

Professional Experience:

Experienced in managing immigration issues, negotiation, interviewing, vendor management, data analysis, corporate ethics, Spanish/Chinese/English translation, and teaching English as a foreign language.

Some highlights of my relevant experience include:

• Developed a broad range of technical expertise based on the protocols of consular care of unaccompanied migrant children and adolescents, and utilized to co-ordinate repatriations, escalate legal cases, and communicate with stakeholders from vulnerable children and abused women to Ministers of Foreign Affairs, providing meaningful, genuine support, data and assessment to escalate for high-level decision making.
• Delivered volumes of analysis and statistical data regarding political and foreign affairs as inputs to Ministry reporting, research findings on competitiveness of Mexican businesses, and contract and supply chain analysis. I am very comfortable with numbers and using them to open lines of enquiry, developing a basis for judgment as well as proving a case.
• My broad experience between the public and commercial sectors, a capacity for fast learning, and fluency in Spanish and English (I am also an intermediate-level Chinese speaker) has enabled me to quickly gain a foothold in new environments, absorb information in a range of formats and present it back with calm authority. Whether providing compelling arguments for escalation, adding weight to assist others, or delivering negotiations, the accuracy and detail of my work has been crucial. Successful mediations with Border Patrol and other U.S. Government agencies, negotiating/agreeing cost-effective supply chain agreements, and credible personal presentations to senior government officials, university and private sector representatives are a selection of outcomes.
• I like and am effective in working with defined processes to achieve efficiencies through well-organized work. I have a tendency to identify opportunities for process improvement, documentation, and driving change. Improving working conditions for my colleagues and ultimately improved outcomes for my customers, whether individual cases, families, or senior officials is always my aim. As an example, I created new processes and tools to simplify and transform the evaluation and processing of economic aid at the Consulate of Mexico in Arizona, to reduce errors and speed up aid to recipients.

I thrive on combining analytical and communications capability with humanitarianism, driven to participate in and lead projects that make a positive global impact on the lives of vulnerable people and communities.
