Completed Masters in Health Policy, Planning and Financing a joint programme by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the London School of Economics and Political Sciences. Since the beginning of the course in September 2019, I was able to acquire a few skills required for critically analysing the issues related to the various ongoing health policies across different high and low-middle income countries. I also got an insight concerning the planning and financing aspects of the several health organizations across the globe.
During the past few months in the course, I also gained knowledge in different aspects related to diverse healthcare financing mechanisms used across different countries and their implications on the health outcomes of those countries. I also learned ways of conducting an economic evaluation of different public health interventions using a few common analytical modelling techniques and statistical programmings like Ms Excel, SPSS, STATA AND R.
In addition to this, I also have a medical background. I have done Medical under-graduation (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) and my post-graduation (Doctor of Medicine) in Preventive and Social Medicine from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, an elite university of India.
Having a medical background and a public health experience is an additional advantage since this will help me in the formulation of health policies which would be beneficial for the people not only from a financial perspective but also from a healthcare perspective.
I have also been a part of a few Health policy-related projects with the UNDP. I have also worked as a summer intern for IQVIA (India) with the HEOR (Health Economics and Outcome Research) team
