Professional Experience:
A seasoned manager and leader in the International NGO sector with a wide range of skills and capabilities acquired over the last 15 years of experience in management and organizational leadership roles.
A development practitioner with experience working in various African countries in fields such as agriculture, rural infrastructure, advocacy and campaigns, human rights, land rights, organizational development, multi stakeholder engagements, strategic partnerships, fundraising, etc.
Currently serving as Director of Programmes and Influencing for Africa at Oxfam International. The role entails leading a team of about 60 wonderful colleagues towards the realization of the Oxfam noble mission of fighting inequalities and ending the injustice of poverty. Our work focuses on humanitarian response, climate justice, gender justice, just economies as well as accountable and inclusive governance.
Previously served at the International Land Coalition (ILC), a global network of more than 300 organizations working to reverse current major world challenges through secure land rights. For about 7 years, held the role of Regional Coordinator for ILC in Africa, based in Nairobi / Kenya, overseeing the planning and implementation of ILC members led Programmes across the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Earlier served at Welthungerhilfe (A German International NGO) in Rwanda, planning and implementing several agricultural and other socio economic development projects for 8 years in various technical and senior managerial/leadership roles, including the role of Country Representative.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with a focus in crops production and horticulture; and a master’s degree in social sciences with a focus in development studies.
