Professional Experience:
Am a rural development and agribusiness specialist; with 25 years of experience in rural and agricultural development in Africa. Am currently serving as an international consultant at the UN World Food Program and in charge of the WFP Food Systems Unit based in Accra, Ghana. Previously I have worked with various national, international agricultural NGOs, and private sector-based agribusiness associations both at technical and senior management level. Throughout the 25 years, I have built extensive experience and expertise in strengthening sustainable food systems through supporting and strengthening smallholder farmer initiatives and resilience programs, rural agribusiness enterprises, including agro- input enterprises, agricultural marketing associations and cooperatives. I have overtime attained strong skills in strategy development, project, and programs management, business development and development partnership with government and international non-governmental organisations. I have significant experience in building teams given that in most of my work I have been leading and supervising teams of field staff spread in various geographic regions of Uganda, Rwanda, and Ghana. Am knowledgeable in various thematic areas including Organizational development, monitoring and evaluation, health and nutrition sensitive agriculture, microfinance, gender mainstreaming and climate resilience.
