Professional Experience:
I am a research, learning & evaluation expert with 15 years of experience across the international development field. I help my clients become better teachers and learners, focusing our energies on imparting deep, long-lasting change.
I help organizations both teach others (through trainings, learning networks, curriculum development, e-learning design, etc.) and learn more effectively (evaluation & research design, meta-analysis).
I have worked across the education sector (Ministries, schools, NGOs; early childhood, primary, secondary, adult) as well as within the financial services (microfinance, household economic strengthening), clean energy, and youth development sectors. I’ve spent the last 1.5 years helping public and community health leaders scale-up their impact and deepen equity-centered approaches to improving health outcomes and addressing social determinants of health.
Two unique strengths allow me to be effective in what are typically separate fields (research and learning). First, I thrive at the intersection of research & practice, in merging the best of what data and lived experience bring to the table. Second, I am passionately creative and driven by a systems-view, big picture thinking while also being detail-oriented, resourceful and practically-minded. So often, meaningful change occurs when risks and are taken and boxes are not only stepped out of but ripped apart. But the best plans and intentions also fail when practicality is ignored, resources are over-promised and objectives & plans are not in alignment among stakeholders. I have helped organizations conceptualize what an ‘e-learning program’ will accomplish and look like for them and then execute every detail of the experience. I have led goal setting workshops and designed research studies and conducted meta-analyses to identify actionable, data-driven steps to be taken. I have led trainings on why economic strengthening services can have benefits when linked to health care services and helped devise strategies for actualizing those linkages.
