Professional Experience:
For the last five years I worked as Human Resources and Administration Manager for an International NGO based in Geneva, with offices in New-York and Abidjan and presence in Brussels and in London. I worked on various recruitment processes and provided services and advice in many HR areas such as payroll, policies, appraisals, wellbeing etc.The HR services were for employees, consultants and interns.
Before that, I worked with various NGO's in Brussels, mainly working in the protection area and lobbying vis-à-vis the European Union institutions. I aslo worked in the humanitarian sector in Burundi, where I worked with Concern Worldwide and with Handicap International in Brussels.
During my career, I acquired strong experience working with managers to set up processes to ensure the provision of quality operations /services. My work has covered Human Resources Management, Recruitment and payroll, working on compliance with labor/immigration laws, contracts, budget management and administration.
In addition, I have experience in working in various environments, on the field and in Headquarters. Some of the aspects I am ready to bring in my work are putting people in the center of the work, integrating risk analysis and highlighting/addressing them. Also, I have been trusted to interact with many institutions such as international organizations, official institutions such as Ministries.
Overall, I contributed to strategic goals of the organization, to lobbying efforts and protection. I have acquired strong administrative and financial management skills and approach HR from a global angle and I learned to work in teams, on project management and can apply monitoring, learning and accountability methodology.
I hold a Master's degree in Human Resources and Organizational dynamics from the Free University of Brussels. (DISTINCTION).
The programme focused on Labor Law, Labor psychology, Labor Sociology, Recruitment, Human Resources, interview techniques...During the Masters I co-wrote a thesis on the Assessment of a recruitment process that we worked on a the Personnel Department of the Free University of Brussels.
I studied English Language and Literature (Bachelor's Degree). All the courses were in English. They included English Literature, Research Methodology, African Literature, African-American Literature, Oral Literature, Language acquisition and many other courses. At the end of the programme the University organized a research stay in Tanzania, where I could work on my thesis: "Shakespeare's Sonnets as an Apologia for Arts" at the same time getting to have access to more reading material and interacting with foreign students.
In high school I took the Arts Section covering all courses and stressing languages.
