Professional Experience:
• Create, implement, and coordinate the maintenance of debt and equity investment and investment management entities on behalf of SEAF, a global leader in small and medium enterprise (SME) investing in emerging markets.
• Provide counsel on statutory authority as well as international and domestic issues relating to impact investment advisors including but not limited to commercial lending and project finance.
• Engage with U.S. government counterparts, and representatives of foreign governments, private industry, and other non-governmental entities.
• Advise on grant and cooperative agreement applications (with USAID, USDA, and others) and managing post-award regulatory compliance including but not limited to 2 CFR 200-700, USAID SP, and ADS 303.
• Analyze and advise on the implications of current and developing legislation, regulation, case law, administrative law, and government policies.
• Communicate complex ideas clearly, concisely, and persuasively, with particular emphasis on the ability to explain complex issues across audiences, translating between attorneys and non-attorneys, both orally and in writing.
• Daily manage a caseload associated with a busy international transactional practice, including significant drafting legal agreements and negotiating with counterparts.
• Advise the Board of Directors and other SEAF executives by providing legal counsel and direction on complex matters, to ensure transactions are consistent with SEAF’s mission, as well as local and domestic policies, legal boundaries, and procedures.
