Professional Experience:

Created FTS’s South Asia programs from 2000 onwards, rallying interest in investors at a time when slavery was not well recognized internationally
Identified and developed long-term support for NGOs in three Indian states, as well as launching the organization’s program in Nepal, based around women-led and survivor-led anti-slavery groups
Enabled partner NGOs to research and define systemic interventions against diverse forms of slavery such as agricultural debt bondage, brick kiln and stone quarry slavery, exploitation in the “entertainment” sector and forced prostitution
Enabled FTS to understand and build international programs around the insights and expertise of locally-based organizations
Assisted partner organizations to prepare work plans, budgets, program descriptions and M&E plans.
• Enabled partner staff to regularly share stories and promising anti-slavery practices with each other and with FTS.
• Ensured full partner financial and programmatic accountability, including reviewing on-site tracking systems. Ensure all partners are regularly trained in child and survivor protections.
• Conducted organizational capacity assessments with partners to identify priorities for strengthening their own institutions and ways of diversifying their funding support
• On request of the Freedom Fund, recently provided assistance to several FTS partners in Bihar to adopt comprehensive approaches for community-based eradication of slavery
• Hosted documentary film crews and donor visits to FTS-supported work, ensuring accurate understanding of the work and proper protection of survivors and vulnerable participants
• Undertook on-site assessments of potential awardees for FTS’ Freedom Awards program such as Friends of Orphans NGO in Uganda
• Represented FTS at international conferences such as the Strategic Coordination between Government and Civil Society for the Integral Protection of Human Rights, Peru, 2013.
• Supervised FTS India legal case manager, India program associate and psychosocial care consultants
• Management and support to FTS Nepal Director
