Professional Experience:
I have well over 15 years of experience in public health and epidemiology. I am well respected in the field of MNCH and HIV and I sit in many technical working groups (TWG) on HIV in Eswatini and on the Global arena. I also have excellent research skills and have been a principal investigator in several researches that I have published. My main strength is that I have grown from the ground to the top. I established an HIV clinic and started working as a physician providing HIV services and have grown to be a Country Director. I have also travelled to several EGPAF supported countries to provide technical assistance in MNCH, SRH, HIV prevention, and care and treatment programs.
I also possess great technical assistance and capacity building skills. I have led the development of several guidelines and policies in Eswatini. I have been hugely involved in building capacity for Ministry of Health at various levels. I am also quite skilled in monitoring and evaluation.
I have also good leadership skills and management skills. I have led development of work plans and budgets for multiple projects both under PEPFAR and other donors like UNITAID, CIDA and ViiV. I am a certified Project Manager holding a PMDPro Level One Certificate. I have been involved in hiring and recruitment if staff for the several project that I have managed. I also have experience in performance assessments and mentoring of staff under my supervision. I currently lead an organization with more than 350 staff. I have great staff management skills.
I have vast experience working with several donors including PEPFAR (both CDC, USAID), Global Fund, Unitaid, ViiV, Gilead, Johnson and Johnson. I have managed budgets of over $7m per year. I am currently the Chief of Party of a USAID grant that provides comprehensive HIV/TB services (MNCH, cervical cancer, HTS, VMMC, PMTCT, TB, and ART). I have also worked closely with development partners like UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA and WFP
