Professional Experience:
Sixteen years of experience in the field of human rights, trafficking women, Girls and Children, protection of Women, Girls and Children Survivors of Gender Based Violence in Haiti, Protection of LGBTI. Awareness and sensitization training for Police and Community Groups. Trainer for local NGO's and I contribute in the training of the national police, justice, medical staff and justices of the peace for better support and reception of SGBV cases in Haiti. I already participated in different forms of advocacy to the Haitian Government and parliament, regional and international levels.
Currently I am Volunteer Adviser on Gender and Human Rights in the Working Group of the UN WOMEN Civil Society for the Caribbean and Latin America (period October 2014 - October 2016). I am also volunteer member of the Haitian Women Network on Gender and Natural Disasters for a term of 2 years (2015-2017).
During the last ten years, I have been working as a volunteer for civil society Haitian women organizations specifically to issues that impact upon Women and their rights: Human Rights - Women's Protection - SGBV Protection in Humanitarian Settings- SGBV Coordination - Program Management–Training- Policy & Advocacy – Training - Facilitation of workshops & seminars on protection and Violence against Women, children and LGBTI person, proposal writing and project implementation.
I was also consultant for Volunteer Organizations of Haitian Civil Society on: technical assistance, project design, training of trainers, capacity building of women, decision making, conflict resolution and assistance legal, medical, psychological Women and Girls sexually abused the implementation and monitoring of SGBV prevention activities at the community level, as well as the establishment of mechanisms that respond to the immediate protection and the needs of survivors, women and children at risk.
For a number of years, I actively lobbied to the Haitian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Parliament on treaties signed and ratified by Haiti, including their implementation. I follow-up with the Haitian Parliament and Government about Haitian legislation on gun violence and violence against women and participated in the annual Global Week of Action against Gun Violence.
I participate in a number of press conferences and meetings on the Human Rights situation in Haiti, highlighting the links between small arms and violence against women. I was involve to train journalists and members of civil society on the UN Programmed of Action to Prevent, Combat and Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects (PoA).
