Professional Experience: |
I have years of experience with public health programs directly overseeing country specific large-scale programs, bilateral agreements, and sub-awards, currently heading the global and domestic development office at the American College of Nurse -Midwives’ (ACNM). I oversee ACNMs entire grants portfolio and all new business development. I also manage implementation of maternal and new -born USAID projects in Madagascar and Afghanistan as well as US domestic grants portfolio with seven active grants (Equity and Health workforce) with HRSA, CDC and Private Foundations.
Before joining ACNM, I was directly managing CDC implemented US PEPFAR’s (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) programs through Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique as the Country lead (2016-2020) with large scale HIV viral load scale up operations following 90-90-90 then 95-95-95 and under Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) implemented TB and AMR laboratory and health system strengthening In Indonesia.
During my HIV work I was closely liaising with CDC/PEPFAR teams as well as other key players in developing country operational plans, projects, workflow documents and detailed budgets. I have developed in depth understanding of FP, RH, HIV/AIDS and Infectious Disease surveillance, preparedness, prevention, detection and response in communities.
In addition, I have worked in Ukraine, Vietnam, Botswana and Pakistan on poverty related diseases, maternal and newborn health, adolescent health, Quality of care as well as innovative solutions in virtual learning post COVID -19.
