Professional Experience:
- Water and Natural Resources Management Expertise: 30 years’ experience in environmental management, Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), international water diplomacy and transboundary water management. Practical experience in policy development, research & analysis and implementing on-the-ground sustainable development initiatives at the local, national, and regional levels.

-Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Resilience (CR): 10 years’ experience in DRR/CR and managing climate-driven extreme hydro-meteorological events. Promoting the humanitarian-development nexus from a DRR perspective, driver of gender equality and human rights-based approaches in DRR/CR in a fair, equitable and inclusive way.

-Programme Development and Management & International Cooperation: Results-driven manager with an excellent mix of leadership and technical expertise in delivering high-impact programmes, development of transboundary agreements and protocols, engaging in conflict management on international river basins, national and regional DRR/CR initiatives, all in the context of international cooperation. Have led the development of significant programmes in the Mekong Region on fisheries, wetlands, environment, IWRM, and across Asia and the Pacific in DRR/CR and humanitarian response.

- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership competencies acquired from two decades of experience in overseeing the strategic direction, coordination, and delivery of collaborative sustainable development, CEO of the secretariat of an intergovernmental river basin organisation, Executive Director of an autonomous international organisation for DRR/CR, Coordinator for an international membership alliance (50 member organisations) and as team leader for consultants.

- Partnership Development & International Representation: Strong stakeholder management skills and international representation experience. Familiar with USAID, Sida, Norad, Danida, SDC, GIZ, World Bank, ADB, AIIB, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, UN agencies and many more.

- Financial & Staff Management: Track record in proposal development, annual budget management of up to US$20 million, funds acquisition, and financial monitoring and reporting in compliance with LFA procedures; have secured over US$250 million through cooperation frameworks, fundraising, and events. Directly manage senior-level staff and some 150 staff in several offices, including recruitment, coaching, and performance management.

Master in Asian Aquaculture (1991) from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand
BSc Marine Biology/Geography (1988) from James Cook University, Townsville, Australia
