Context

The Atlantic Zone Programme Assistant reports to the Coordinator of their assigned area and the programme officers (WASH, Community Mobilization, etc.) of Operations France. They work in collaboration with the logistics, WASH and Community Mobilization teams.

Purpose / objective:

The assistant participates in programmatic monitoring and reporting in support of area coordinators. He/she participates in design work, technical documentation, and field interventions with program managers.

List of main responsibilities:

Relevance, quality and design of projects

• Participate in WASH technical assessment and diagnostic missions and in writing reports under the supervision of the area coordinator in the IDF, Nantes, Lille, Toulouse and Marseille areas and in conjunction with program managers.
• Assist area coordinators and program managers with the technical design of activities
• Follow up and monitor the "hotline" technical support for associations and institutions with the EHA coordinator.
Operational monitoring and tracking

• Under the supervision of the area program managers and the WASH coordinator, update the various monitoring and programmatic management tools (including monitoring of facilities, monitoring of project indicators, updating of the DIAHL platform)
• Assist program managers and the WASH coordinator as needed in operational implementations (installations, maintenance, distributions, etc.)
• Assist in the relationship with technical and volunteer service providers assigned to the activities (presentation of activities, technical solutions)
• Assist program managers in hygiene kit distribution and hygiene promotion activities.
Capitalisation

• Participate in the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides and tools related to WASH activities in France
• Participate in capitalizing on intervention methods and techniques and on experiences acquired by Solidarités International and other actors for WASH activities (Technical sanitation solutions, greywater management, etc.)
• Participate in the drafting of projects and donor reports under the supervision of the area coordinator
• Participation in the archiving of administrative and programmatic documents
• Participate in the creation of tools (techniques, MEAL, etc.) and their improvements
logistical and financial resources

• Participate in maintaining proper documentation related to storage (e.g., stock tracking, inventory, etc.);
• Participate in the logistics/finance cycle related to the management of WASH activities (BCI, OFU, …)
Human Resources

• Occasionally, when missions require it, participate in the search for volunteers (identification and selection): briefing and support; administrative management of volunteers (meal vouchers, signing of charter and volunteer document); Volunteer HR planning and coordination during interventions in support of the person in charge of the intervention.

• Participate in the recruitment of the replacement intern at the end of the contract (review of the job description, publication, pre-selection of CVs using an analysis grid, participation in interviews and handover)

• Studies in development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, political science; a scientific profile may also be suitable.

• Knowledge of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation and/or knowledge of the humanitarian field is an asset

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel ) and GIS software (Earth, QGIS);

• Excellent analytical and writing skills

• Good ability to synthesize information

• Proactivity and critical thinking

• Interpersonal skills

• Ability to work under pressure

• Commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL.

• Permit B

• Position based at the Solidarités International offices of its assigned base (Nantes) with field travel

• Contract based on student status (Internship)

• Statutory bonus of 15% of the current social security hourly ceiling.

The bonus is calculated pro rata to the actual hours worked during the month (on average 1 month = 154 hours, i.e. 22 days of 7 hours/day)

Meal vouchers (60%), transport passes (50%) covered by the association
