A versatile former police officer and public servant in Singapore and Australia currently based in the United Arab Emirates seeking challenging opportunities in the aid sector.
I am an ex-police officer with 16 years in law enforcement and community engagement in the Singapore Police Force. Upon migrating to Australia, I became a public servant in South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. I have a comprehensive academic and work background in investigations and compliance, policy and research, community and stakeholder relations. Through these experiences I developed strong interpersonal, organizational and administrative skills. I am currently on sabbatical from my role as a Senior Policy Officer from the Australian Capital Territory Public Service as I have relocated temporarily because my husband accepted a job in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
My formative education was in Singapore. I have a bachelor degree with honours in sociology from the National University of Singapore in 1998. In 2011, I took a sabbatical from work and pursued a Masters in Studies programme at the Australian National University, a cross discipline programme which allowed me to choose my modules. I mainly took modules in Anthropology and Ethics, including Anthropology of Development and Criminal Justice Ethics. I graduated with my Masters in 2012.
