Professional Experience:
Senior public policy analyst with a decade of experience working across diplomacy, multilateral engagement, strategic intelligence, and regional policy in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Some of the values that have guided my own journey are enabling local leadership, building thoughtful partnerships, and supporting transitions that are both just and lasting. Whether leading APAC analysis at Janes or providing early-warning insights to senior Australian diplomats, or even strengthening engagement between governments and research institutions, I have always seen policy as something deeply human. Behind every decision are communities, livelihoods, and the quiet expectations people place on institutions meant to protect their futures. My three core strengths include strategic programme design informed by deep regional insight; network mobilisation and partnership development; and compelling communication and evidence-based storytelling.
At Janes, I direct regional intelligence analyses on climate security, undersea cable and critical infrastructure vulnerabilities, and China’s engagement in Oceania. My work supports governments and international institutions navigating a rapidly shifting energy and security environment. Previously, at the Australian High Commission, I provided policy advice on security cooperation and initiated partnerships resulting in an 80% increase in strategic and academic engagement. At UNICEF, through Media Today, I led policy analyses that shaped their advocacy, including recommendations on gender-neutral legislative reforms. With the US Embassy, I produced early-warning analysis that earned the Exceptional Performance Award for identifying radicalisation trends in Kerala. These roles sharpened my ability to hold both systems-level dynamics and ground realities in view; an approach vital to any organisation with a mission of fostering locally informed, scalable change.
Growing up as a South Asian diaspora child in West Asia, and working at the intersection of geopolitics and development for international organisation in the Global South, I understand how critical it is that emerging economies shape their own transition pathways; not as recipients of ideas, but as partners in designing them. Let me know if we can discuss ways of mutually contributing and collaborating for some real-world impact. You can reach me at Jeethu.chacko@yahoo.com or at +91-8547994806.
