CFO of newly privatized Hydro power projects at kainji & Jebba (1338 MW) at Niger River under Niger Basin Authority. Financing up to $500 million for project acquisition and capacity enhancement from AfDB, AFC, JICA, IFC, World Bank (PRG), Guarantee Trust Bank, etc.

CFO International Projects
CFO MENASA Region, Dubai, UAE of Energy sector at Dubai Multi-Commodity Centre (DMCC). Responsible for financial management as well as financing of multi-million Dollar projects in the international market (Middle East, North Africa & South Asia regions).

Member Finance/CFO, Pakistan WAPDA/PEPCO
Held a very responsible position of Member Finance WAPDA/ CFO PEPCO, providing financial & management services to 14 corporate entities dealing with power generation, transmission and distribution across the country. Also, Director on BOD of First Credit Investment Bank Ltd.

As Member Finance WAPDA/CFO PEPCO he had a portfolio of multibillion turnovers in the entire country. During his tenure, the annual turnover grew from US$2.0 billion to US$ 6.50 billion. Besides, as head of finance, arranged and signed several projects with international financing institutions/consortiums as listed below:

1. Guddu thermal power project: US$750 million with Citi, HSBC, China Development Bank, etc.
2. Chichokimalian thermal power project: US$525 million with BNP Paribas, HSBC, China EXIM, COFACE, SINOSURE, etc.
3. Nandipur thermal power project: US$ 329 million with BNP Paribas, HSBC, China EXIM, COFACE, SINOSURE etc.
4. Neelum Jhelum Hydro Power project: US$2.3 billion with Governments of Saudi Arabia & UAE, Kuwait Fund, Islamic Development Bank, etc.
5. Several small hydro projects with USAID, WB, ADB, France Development Agency (ADF), German Development Agency (KFW) ranging from 25 to US$ 150 million each.
6. The largest project in the pipeline was Diamir-Bhasha Hydro Power Project of US$12.3 billion for which ADB had pledged US$5 billion and WB, USAID, IDB and Governments of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar etc. have shown interest in the near future.

Finance Controller of The Hub Power Company Ltd (HUBCO), the first largest project in the private sector of Pakistan, sponsored by International Power of UK, XENEL of Saudi Arabia, Entergy of USA and Mitsui of Japan. As ex-employee of Hawker Siddeley (initial sponsors of HUBCO) I was the pioneer member of the team to set up Hubco’s office in Pakistan and achieved the financial close for a US$1.5 billion project in 1995 which has annual turnover of multimillion US$

Please note that in my current assignment as CFO Mainstream Energy Solutions Nigeria, we have procured debt/equity financing upto US$ 500 million from IFC, AfDB, JICA, AFC & GTB.
