Currently i practice within a network of counsel, and independently work with corporate retainers where I counsel various entities on cross-board transactions, regulatory matters, strategy and related commercial litigation, before which, I was positioned as the Vice President and India Counsel for GE Consumer & Industrial since 2003. Prior to my position at GE, I was an associate with the Infrastructure and corporate advisory group at Amarchand Mangaldas, Delhi (AM), and commenced my practice in 1998 at the Supreme Court attached to the chamber of the Attorney General for India, Mr Soli J Sorabjee. Legal and compliance overview, strategy and management have been the primary indicators of my role. I have built capacity to extend support to all functions to effectively monitor and enforce the contracts and lead the transactional, negotiation and litigation processes as required.
I further provide legal support in drafting and negotiation of Term Sheets, Memorandum of understandings, Joint venture agreements, shareholders agreements, sale/ purchase agreements, leases/ license agreements, and other documentation to cater to business needs.
At GE Consumer & Industrial i had the role of lead legal and compliance in India where I provided legal and compliance support to the business leadership and in senior management forums including policy formulation for the company and also had considerable external interface with customers and business partners on all transactions, issues of dispute and policy interpretation.
I have substantial experience and interface with advocates and solicitors across the globe on behalf of business to handle litigation, obtain specialized legal advice and miscellaneous legal services across geographies.
I worked very closely and was part of the GE Asia Legal team with whom i coordinated Projects and Compliance and was part of the GE Global core attorney's legal network that worked with various global matters and also perform roles within the network on the same.
