Professional Experience: |
Private Sector Primary Care Physician who transitioned to Public Health, over three decades of experience giving me deep understanding of Family Planning and Sexual and Reproductive Health Care service delivery in private primary care and public sector along with country level management and quality assurance of health service delivery.
My career in public health encompassed my two passions- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Primary Care, with occasional forays into child health. I started with Pehel, which was a network of private providers established by PSI to add quality to the provision of LARCs in Delhi. I have since had the opportunity to work in different aspects of Family Planning in India, from working to build acceptance for new contraceptive methods – Inj DMPA- IN Abt Associates, monitoring Government FP service providers for Oxford Policy Management- India, monitoring and quality assurance of clinical teams, Foundation of Reproductive Health Services- India (formerly known as Marie Stopes International-India), to my current position- Senior Advisor, FP/RH at Jhpiego.
Although based in Delhi throughout, I have worked in different states; Bihar, UP, Rajasthan, Odisha, Jharkhand and Assam.

My job entails coordination and building mechanisms for engaging with private health care providers to increase acceptance to family planning, especially long acting reversible contraceptives and comprehensive abortion care, along with capacity building and supportive supervision of private health care providers to ensure quality. I also coordinate with various government and non-government partners and represent PSI at various professional and academic forums.
I have also established and am successfully running own Medical Center in Delhi.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work and interact effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment are my major assets, along with proven technical skills.
I have a passion for health education which motivated me to move to public health. This led to continuously develop my skills – leading me to pursue courses in Public health management and Monitoring and Evaluation of public health programs.
