Professional Experience:
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT & INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN EXPERTISE
With over two decades of experience, I have established myself as a distinguished curriculum development specialist with particular expertise in transforming complex subject matter into effective learning materials across secondary, post-secondary, and professional development contexts.
As Senior Manager of Syllabus and Curriculum Development at the Caribbean Examinations Council, I led the revision of 12 existing syllabuses across multiple educational levels, developed and launched new curriculum offerings, and designed implementation support workshops delivered across five countries. My leadership resulted in the successful introduction of innovative courses such as green engineering and digital literacy, while also establishing frameworks for the CXC Learning Hub and Regional Institute.
My consultancy for UNESCO Jamaica exemplifies my ability to deliver comprehensive curriculum solutions for critical social needs. I developed an adolescent learner driver curriculum focusing on road safety attitudes and skills acquisition, creating print-ready materials following extensive research into global best practices and stakeholder consultation.
For the Jamaica Stock Exchange, I designed a certificate program with 15 specialized courses and implementation pathways, demonstrating my versatility in developing professional education curricula beyond traditional academic contexts.
INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION & IMPACT
My expertise has been sought by international organizations including the Commonwealth of Learning, for whom I developed ICT professional development strategies and assessment tools for educators in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Similarly, for the European Commission, I evaluated external assistance education enhancement programs in Saint Lucia and developed sustainable professional development models.
As an Educational Consultant for Macmillan Caribbean, I authored four textbooks with comprehensive digital ancillaries, demonstrating my ability to create educational resources that effectively integrate technology. This work extended to conducting training needs assessments and delivering technology integration workshops for editorial teams transitioning to digital publishing.
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION & DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
My role as Digital Transformation Specialist for Sisters' Ink Jamaica showcases my ability to develop innovative business models and processes in response to emerging challenges, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work included advising clients on transforming face-to-face operations into virtual and online environments.
For the Ministry of Education, Jamaica, I gathered requirements and developed the National Education Inspectorate website and portal. As Professional Lead for ICT with Cambridge Education, I led the development of a web-based enterprise software system for Jamaica's education quality agency, managing the entire implementation from development through training and steady-state support.
ASSESSMENT & QUALITY ASSURANCE
My extensive experience with the Caribbean Examinations Council as an Examining Committee Member included serving as chief examiner and assistant chief examiner for multiple subjects. I managed script marking processes, ensured reliable assessment, and developed valid test items across various syllabuses.
As an Assessment Specialist, I developed structured and selected response test items conforming to rigorous test blueprints and reviewed specimen papers with technical recommendations.
