Professional Experience:
Mak Khan's demonstrated experience in managing development programme spans over 30 years in different cross-cultural settings, covering Education (Non-formal ed;TVET, Policy etc); Health (including HIV/AIDS prevention and drug control); Governance, Social Accountability; Regional Cooperation, Economic Management; Public Finance; Poverty Alleviation, Change Management, Education, and Organizational Capacity Building. He has proven strong background in Results Based Monitoring and Evaluation (RBM&E). He combines his M&E skills with his high level strategic advocacy, planning, capacity building and leadership roles pertaining to organizational development in NGOs, bilateral and multilateral development partner institutions.

Dr Khan’s extensive networks with major bilateral and multilateral funding agencies include his successful consultancy background with Asian Development Bank, World Bank, AusAID, DFID, and the UN system . Dr Khan has worked and lived in several countries in the Asia Pacific region. His work with UNAIDS, UNODC, Asian Development Bank, AusAID, among other donors include developing M&E framework and imparting capacity building training with a view to monitoring HIV/AIDS prevention interventions, and the effectiveness of National focal points in Nepal, China, Cambodia, Lao, Indonesia, Thailand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh. Dr Khan speaks several South Asian languages.

He is known for his balanced negotiation skills, excellent interpersonal communication quality, sense of humour, and his sensitivity to gender and cultural issues. He is a deadline oriented person; an able team player, and a passionate mentor whose presence in work environment adds value to his work mates’ motivation, and organizational efficiency.
Education:
PhD in Public Policy and Masters in Public Administration. Training in M&E, Gender, and Program Management.
