Professional Experience:
Cristina Freitas has 18+ years of experience in project management, project design, monitoring and evaluation, and review of governance and donors’ initiatives. Her experiences include:
a. leading a project management team for project design, stakeholder engagement and monitoring, evaluation, and learning for several economic, social (including education, health, gender, and youth) and democracy governance programs
c. leading technical assistance for Regional Economic Integration for ASEAN and the World Trade Organization (WTO) accession processes for Timor-Leste. The work involved intensive support of capacity building for TL's government senior and technical staff and assisting the government officials with policy analysis and reforms,
d. managing the first public-private partnerships project initiative between Timor-Leste's government and private sectors for the first international infrastructure standard development of the port (Tibar Bay Port)
Cristina is an experienced program designer who values building exceptional, diverse teams and adeptly translates between strategy and implementation. She has strong analytical and communication skills in working with a multicultural team, high personal integrity, with the ability to relate and create trust in all.
Cristina has worked in Australia, the Pacific (PNG), ASEAN countries (desk), and Timor-Leste with a range of stakeholders, including local and international organizations including the Asian Development Bank, International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), the Department of Foreign Affairs Australia (DFAT), and United States Agency for International Development, United Nations agencies and several of contractors organizations, Plan International, CARDNO and Timorese government ministries; Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Corporations, Ministry of Health and Coordinating Ministry of Economic Affairs and others. Her qualifications include an MBA (Australia, 2009), a BA (2001), and various training in the Economic, Political, and Social (including gender) sectors.
