Professional Experience:
I have 18 years' progressive experience in human resources management 10 of which as head of HR Unit and a member of the country office senior management team with International Non-governmental Organizations and the United Nations Development Program. Well-developed strategic and tactical HR management experience which broadly spans across HR strategy development and implementation, leadership coaching and training, performance and succession management, organization design and change management, employee engagement, and HR technical capacity development. My specific hands-on experience in reviewing human resources policies in line with the legal frameworks, good practices, corporate policies, and priorities. Currently at PSI Malawi, I have just developed and rolled out a Safeguarding Policy and Policy Against Harassment and discrimination. At VSO in 2020 I developed the COVID-19 Protocols to guide staff and managers on remote working arrangements and negotiated with the UN Medical to include VSO personnel in the country arrangement. At WVI in 2017 I developed a compensation policy aimed at cushioning staff from the impact of high inflation and in 2013/14 at UNDP I led the task force that established the Service Contract market related remuneration scale. At UNDP Malawi, WVI Malawi, VSO Malawi and currently PSI Malawi have built the technical capacity of HR teams to business partners resulting in raising the value proposition of the HR Unit. Strong experience in change management and organization redesign; supported WVI Malawi in people processes of a major restructuring, currently supporting PSI Malawi through deconsolidation process. Previously with UNDP, WVI and VSO, I have substantively supported major organization change by leading the processes that involve staff including staffing plans, communication strategies to staff and stakeholders, and consultations ensuring business continuity, talent retention and zero litigation. I have very good working knowledge of ERP systems and other web-based management systems for example HCM Modules in Oracle/PeopleSoft, Atlas/UNDP, Sage 300, Salesforce and SAPs. Have good working knowledge of the employee engagement survey platforms and experience in developing action plans to address employee morale issues.

Studying towards Advanced CIPD Level 7 Diploma in HRM - 2021-2023

Masters Degree in Business Administration - ESAMI, 2013

Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration - University of Malawi, 1998
Affiliations and Achievements:
- Set up HR systems from the ground including development of HR policies or NASFAM:2003 - 2005
- Facilitated the recruitment of WVI National Director with a positive candidate experience: 2016
- Adapted COVID-19 protocols for VSO volunteers in Malawi with no infection rate reported between 2020 and June 2021
- Developed the safeguarding and child protection policy for PSI Malawi, oversaw the set up the whistle blower reporting platform for PSI Malawi. Developed relevant policies and training content:2023.
