I have over eighteen (18) years of experience in provision of professional services in resource mobilisation; project development and planning; management and monitoring; natural resources management; and partnership/client management, gained
through engagements with Barbados-based environmental consulting firms (Simmons & Associates Inc., Alleyne
Planning Associates Inc. and Coastal & Environmental Engineering Solutions Inc.) from 1998 to 2008, and since
then, with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) where I have been engaged as the Senior Programme Officer for eleven (11) years (2008 to 2019) and the acting Planning and Business Development Manager for 2 years (2020 to 2022).
In my ten (10) years as an Environmental Consultant working on a number projects throughout the Caribbean region, I had responsibility for all aspects of the project development cycle, including development of technical and financial proposals for provision of the firms’ consulting services; project coordination/management and liaising with sub-consultants and clients; undertaking field research and data analysis; preparing technical reports; participating in public consultation meetings; and making presentations to project stakeholders on project deliverables.
As CDEMA is an international, multi-country agency that is part of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) system, I have had considerable experience engaging and collaborating with national-level stakeholders. I am also familiar with a programmatic approach to addressing country needs and delivery of results, taking account of key issues related to disaster risk management, climate change, and environment with consideration of gender issues. Further, I have had opportunity to liaise closely with stakeholders from regional and international agencies, who contribute technically and financially to programme delivery, with a view to promoting synergies with the partner programming and to ensure that support mobilized is closely linked to country priorities.
In my current role, I provide oversight for the key areas of Strategic Planning and Management; Partnership Management, Resource Mobilisation; and Monitoring and Evaluation.

I would bring to the position a sound academic background at the undergraduate level and postgraduate levels. Specifically, I received my undergraduate training in Natural Resources Management from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada in 1995, and then went on to pursue postgraduate training in Marine Resources and environmental Management at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill campus, where I earned a Master’s degree in 1998. In 2005, I successfully completed a second Master’s degree in Applied Environmental Economics through the University of London, External Programme. In 2014, I successfully completed a Master’s Certificate in Results-Based Monitoring & Evaluation & Information Systems which was jointly offered by IDEA International Institute and the University of Laval, Quebec.
