Professional Experience:
For the last 11 years I have worked within the International organisations, first with Action Against Hunger or /ACF-USA then with the International Committee of the Red Cross-(ICRC). I was spokesperson, built communications frameworks, short and long-term strategies with time and budget bound objectives, which included various components such as campaigns, media mapping and targeting, advocacy, collatoral design, development of promotional tools and organizing workshops and training. I have strong networking skills which facilitated building relationships and thereby forging strategic partnerships which lead to successfully implementing programmes linked to the objectives.
I am well versed in emergency, conflict and post conflict programmes, and have extensive experience in writing in-country political, military and legal analysis within the specific contexts and have reported on a wide variety of topics ranging from hunger relief and food security to weapons conventions, the Law of War and Human Rights Law.
I have written numerous articles for El Ansani, the ICRC quarterly magazine which is published in and distributed to a MiddleEastern audience, as well as supplied content in the form of updates and human interest stories to the websites both for Action Against Hunger USA, as well as for the various ICRC missions. I have organised workshops and trained within various sessions on IHL and media reporting in war.
