Professional Experience: |
I have long experience working in the field of agricultural extension, nutrition and health, community wealth creation and rural development in Eastern Africa. I spent seven years working for the Center for Sustainable Rural Livelihoods helping to successfully set up, manage and deliver a collaborative program with three key partners: Iowa State University, Makerere University, and a Ugandan non-governmental organization. I joined when the Sustainable Rural Livelihoods (SRL) Program was conceptualized, and I played a major role in coordinating and managing the program from its inception. I established partnerships for our program with other institutions and organizations. The partnerships I created were key when the University registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Uganda. Currently, I provide leadership to the Nutrition Education Programs. Previously, I worked for K-REP Development Agency, a microfinance non-governmental organizations in Kenya, as a Senior Research Officer ; the Danish Development Agency (DANIDA), as a Community Development and Training Officer ; and the government of Kenya’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development as an extension agent. I serve as an Associate Teaching Professor in a major called Global Resource Systems in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
