International Organization for Migration (IOM) Post disaster programme implementation
One Room Shelter Programme Manager, Southern Sindh
• Programme implementation: Responsible for all aspects of implementing IOM’s One Room Shelter (ORS) programme in Southern Sindh, covering three districts (Thatta, Jamshoro and Dadu), and 13,000 shelters with a budget of 4,000,000 USD.
• Responsible for the 14 Implementing Partners (Pakistani NGOs) through which IOM is implementing the ORS programme in Southern Sindh.
• Managing all teams (technical, social mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation, documentation and reporting).
• Other responsibilities include: reporting for IOM Islamabad, reporting for Donors (ECHO/US AID/Government of Japan), Information Management of programme implementation, representing IOM at the Early Recovery Housing Working Group (previously and now again the Shelter Cluster following floods in Sindh 2011).
Community Restoration Programme Manager, Southern Sindh
• Programme implementation: Responsible for all aspects of implementing IOM’s Community restoration programme (CRP) programme in Southern Sindh, covering three districts (Thatta, Jamshoro and Dadu), 100 projects and 1,500,000 USD. The programme is divided into three components; infrastructure rebuilding through cash for work, livelihoods grants and female grants.
• Responsible for the 5 Implementing Partners (Pakistani NGOs) through which IOM is implementing the ORS programme in Southern Sindh.
• Managing all teams (technical, social mobilisation, monitoring and evaluation, documentation and reporting).
• Other responsibilities include: reporting for IOM Islamabad on progress, reporting for Donors (Government of Japan), Information Management, representing IOM at the Early Recovery Working Group Community.
Head of Office (Acting), IOM Hyderabad Sub Office, Southern Sindh
• Undertaking all responsibilities of the Head of Office when Head of Office is out of country or travelling in country to ensure smooth running of Hyderabad office and 57 staff. Since February I have been the acting Head of Office for approximately 4 months.
• Overseeing operations being conducted from IOM Hyderabad hub in response to the 2011 Floods, including distribution (as of end November 2011) of over 50,000 blankets, 50,000 plastic sheets, 25,000 kitchen sets, 25,000 jerry cans, 700 tents, 50,000 mats and 5,000 hygiene kits. Signing contracts with Implementing Partners for the distributions, ensuring that operations, procurement and logistics teams are functioning effectively.
• Overseeing Finance and Administration department of the hub office and dealing with issues related to HR, and Finance and Administration in Islamabad.
• Overseeing all security aspects of running a sub office in a high-risk security environment, including coordination with UNDSS and district police.
