Professional Experience:
Responsible for planning, obtaining resources, and conducting preventive medicine and communicable disease control, occupational health, food safety inspections, and disaster response programs. Communicates and coordinates with Department of State Regional Medical Officer (RMO) and Contract Oversight Representative regularly for maximum cooperation, participation, and effect. Plans, directs, and conducts epidemiological investigations of communicable diseases and food borne disease outbreaks, and makes recommendations to the Program Manager, Chief Medical Officer, and RMO. Plans and develops disease vector surveillance program. Maintains medical facility employee’s occupational health program. Participates in formulating occupational health examination requirements for workers at risk for hazardous exposures. Maintains close liaison with other agencies to develop procedures for prompt identification, investigation, evaluation, and reporting of occupational illnesses. Directing all public health efforts and responsible for Public Health Technician’s work tasks and schedules. Advises on issues relating to site selection, field sanitation, disease threats, and physical threats such as heat and cold stress, water quality concerns, vector and pest hazards, and contamination control procedures. Continually monitors disease trends and advises on interventions. Regularly develops, revises, and writes Standard Operating Policies and Procedures. Attends and participates in a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve quality and outcomes, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems.
Education:
Graduated in 2000 from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Undergraduate Degree in Animal Science 1994-1996. While in school, much of my time was devoted to Animal Nutrition research.
