Through his career, Dr. Hammamy has developed, implemented, monitored, evaluated, and provided technical assistance on behalf of USAID, EU and UNPFA, in Asia/Near East, NIS, Africa as well as the United States.

Professional Experience:

Dr. Hammamy has provided result-oriented expert assistance in the areas of developing integrated and sustainable quality services and management protocols, including family planning/reproductive health, child survival, TB, Avian Influenza, IEC, training, including conducting comprehensive training needs assessments, developing curricula and other training materials, and training of trainers, service providers, supervisors, managers, policy makers, community workers and community leaders; developing and implementing CQI and TQM based supervision and monitoring tools and procedures; developing, implementing and evaluating FP/RH and child survival programs, TB, Avian Influenza, and developing strategic plans at the national and local program level. Dr Hammamy has worked on emerging health issues and health programs in fragile states and in states recovering from recent conflicts.

In all these senior management positions, Dr. Hammamy was responsible for the technical and management oversight of all program components and procurement, including management of partnerships/consortia, development of workplans and financial plans, technical assistance plans, staffing needs and recruitment, preparation of programmatic and financial reports, budget management, development and implementation of sustainability and cost recovery scheme and, compliance with USAID, EU and UN procedures. Dr. Hammamy is fluent in both English and Arabic.

Education:

Dr. Hammamy is a medical doctor and also holds two Master degrees and a doctorate degree from Harvard School of Public Health.

Affiliations and Achievements:

In my UNFPA position in Jordan and Iraq as Country Representative and Chief of Operations, I managed the establishment of the UNFPA Iraq program and worked within the UN system to coordinate with other agencies and development partners. I have successfully raised $13 million for UNFPA Iraq. My management of the $14 million Pathfinder program for Jordan included procurement, renovations, training and production of Behavior Change Communication materials and campaign. I have secured funding and managed over $55 million in projects with Project HOPE. I developed and managed NGO grant programs.

Throughout my career, I have been successful in commanding the respect of senior officials and partners in, USA, Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and other countries in Asia and Africa as well as other development partners with whom I have to work. During the past few years I have been also involved with services provided to Palestinian refugees in Jordan as well as internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Iraq.
