Professional Experience:
I am a highly adventurous and process oriented research and program evaluation professional, with 5 years of experience in humanitarian research and project planning and evaluation. I have previously worked in the Non Profit Sector as a qualitative researcher having researched various projects in Cash Transfer programming, Hunger resilience, Drought response and use of Disruptive technology (Blockchain) in humanitarian response. I also evaluated projects in Food security and humanitarian response during disasters. In these various capacities I was able to create frameworks that were used to guide, strengthen and scale up humanitarian programming and response. I have previously worked as a research and innovation consultant for the International Centre for Humanitarian Affairs and also as a Health and Wellness project manager for the Social Economic research Foundation.
My core competencies include evidence based research, stakeholder management, knowledge creation and management and lastly innovation and disruptive technologies. I am a former member of the Kenya Cash working group, the Africa Disaster Management Advisory Group (ADMAG) for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the Blockchain Society of Kenya Health working group leader.
Education:
I hold an undergraduate honours degree from the University of Toronto in Women and Gender Studies, Minor in Health studies and Sociology. A postgraduate honours degree in Social Policy and Management from University of Cape Town and a Masters degree in Project Planning and Management from Catholic University of Eastern Africa.
