Nana provided Technical Consulting Advisory Services to the erstwhile Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) Food Security Program in Ghana for 14 years. Her main contribution to the program was in designing and monitoring the implementation of CIDA’s national and regional food security and agriculture programs particularly in the northern regions of Ghana, where food insecurity and poverty have been acute. She has participated in the design of CIDA's (now Global Affairs Canada GAC) major food security programs in Ghana including the Food and Agriculture Budget Support programs (FABS) and led design of the on-going Modernization of Agriculture in Ghana (MAG) and the Technical Education for a Modernized Agriculture in Ghana (TEDMAG) Project Her achievements in development planning span the sectors of agriculture and rural development, management of commodity value chains for rural economic transformation, women economic empowerment and development, and local participation in decentralized governance. Nana Koranteng provides training in evidence-based planning and market-oriented extension advisory services. Nana is a strong advocate of value addition to agriculture commodities in increasing wealth and transforming rural subsistence farming into market-oriented demand-driven economically viable economies. She believes the achievement of this objective is highly dependent on the transformation of Ghana's production based extension delivery into a service that is responsive to commodity value chain facilitation

She is a strong advocate of empowering rural and vulnerable women through the strategic harnessing of natural and physical resources for wealth creation and economic independence
