Professional Experience:
I am working as a SMO (Surveillance Medical Officer) in National Public Health surveillance project India of WHO for more than 7 years. I have been working closely with the State Government, academic institutions and professional bodies, for maintaining a highly sensitive Acute Flaccid Paralysis, Measles Elimination & Rubella Control Surveillance, Vaccine Preventable Diseases Surveillance and AEFI surveillance, operationalization of Polio End game strategies and strengthening of Routine Immunization, introduction of new vaccines. I have been fascinated towards public health from the days of medical college. I worked twice as an External Monitor in National Pulse Polio Round in 3rd & 4th year of MBBS. I worked voluntarily for old aged people in Helpage India for two years and then one year as an employee. From those days, I decided to work in public health field, because clinical treatment can only suppress the disease, not cure the disease. It is just like to filling money into a torn pocket. Epidemiological approach can only fulfill the definition of health recommended by WHO. State of complete physical, mental and social well being could not achieve without public health approach. After completion of MBBS, I went for MPH in Australia to improve academic knowledge in public health. Just after MPH, I joined polio project in WHO to gain field experience. I got the opportunity to work as a part of emergency response plan in polio outbreak in India and we were able to stop transmission. I can work for in every aspect of public health and surveillance, though immunization and eradication of communicable disease are the areas where I am more interested. Because child mortality rate is still very high in developing countries (Asian and African countries) and it can be reduced only with immunization, health education and improvement in health infrastructure. Moreover, communicable disease can be prevented with these efforts.
I have good interpersonal communication skills. I can clearly express his thoughts orally and in writing. I have excellent data analysis skill and capable of represent in computer. Apart from that I have good facilitation skills and very much interested in conducting training program. I am very much curious, resourceful and take initiatives. I do not hesitate to seek support whenever requires. My behavior with office staffs is very polite and respectful. I am also tactful and constructive in interaction with seniors. I work very well as a team member, but whenever he works independently, the outcome is equally good. He could adjust myself in any adverse condition and environment. I always willing to work under pressure and take the appropriate initiative. I am politically and culturally sensitive person and willing to learn new language.
If I will get opportunity to work with your organization, I will demonstrate my suitability for the position.
