Professional Experience: |
With 21 years of professional experience for Government Agencies and 10 years in the Asia Pacific context, namely Timor-Leste, I am expertise as policy forecast and strategy advisory to the Government for education, foreign affairs and for the development policies in the tourism, trade and industry sectors. I was part of the negotiation teams for the Maritime Boundary Treaty between East Timor and Australia, under the auspices of the United Nations. I was part of the negotiation team for the new Cotonou Agreement between the European Union and the African, Caribbean and Pacific countries.

In 1999 I finished my degree in sociology, with a specialisation in demography and statistics. In this context, I attended advanced training in Statistics and Information Management at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2007 I completed the curricular component of the Master's degree in Management at the University of Évora, and then entered the PhD programme in Economics at this university. In 2019, given the work done in the negotiations of the Maritime Boundary Treaty between Australia and Timor-Leste, under the auspices of UNCLOS and the Secretary General of the United Nations, I am attending a PhD Program in Law, at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
