January 2009 – March 2017 FINANCIERA EDUCATIVA DE MEXICO CEO Mexico’s largest financial institution focused entirely on education with more than US $250 million lent to schools and over 20,000 students financed. • Responsible of full P&L operation of the company. Represented the company in domestic and international forums as well as with the World Bank. • Obtained over US $150 million in funding for the company (3x the amount obtained before my term). • Attracted new investors which increased the company’s equity by 300%. • Grew the number of universities incorporated to the company’s programs in more than 5x. • Reduced bad debt of school loans to 0% and student loans from 7.8% to 4.4%. • Created the first Education REIT in Latin America with over US $50 million in assets.
November 2004 – December 2008 GRUPO KALTEX CFO Mexico’s largest textile company with US $2 billion in sales, operating in 4 countries and 15,000 employees. • Responsible for the Finance, Tax, Budgeting, Treasury, Controllership and Legal areas. • Restructured over US $250 in short term debt to long term debt under adverse circumstances. • Negotiated and converted US $110 of company debt into equity. • Negotiated the purchase of Coltejer, Colombia’s second largest textile company with annual sales of over US $150 million. • Managed the financial and administrative integration of Coltejer with Kaltex.
