Professional Experience: |
I completed my BSc honours degree in Nutrition and Public Health at Sheffield Hallam University. During my first year at university in May 2021, I went to Tanzania for an internship where I worked in nursery schools, orphanage centres, community clinics, and conducted home visit for less disadvantaged people educating them on nutrition and personal hygiene. My duties allowed me the chance to experience the struggles that individuals in developing countries go through first-hand and affirmed my desire to work as a Nutritionist helping people according to their needs. My interest in helping people to improve their health through correct nutrition and exercise has also led to me doing voluntary work in my local area with an organisation called Everyone Health. I have assisted people in engaging in physical exercise and nutrition classes where we would discuss portion control, risks of obesity to health and associated diseases. My degree and past experiences have made me aware of the diseases currently causing problems to certain individuals, and through research I have learnt how and what kinds of healthy diets are vital to prevent and minimise diet and nutrition related problems.
