Candidate has 25 years of experience in management, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), training, program development, and research. Her technical program areas of expertise include maternal and newborn health, child survival, developmental disabilities, school and adolescent health, HIV/AIDS, emergency response, and family planning. At Management Sciences for Health, she served as an M&E Advisor for the Leadership, Management, and Governance (LMG) program. Prior to her work at MSH, she served as Program Research and Evaluation Advisor at Save the Children where she developed and implemented the M&E system for the Gates Foundation-funded Saving Newborn Lives program, built local and regional staff capacity in M&E, carried out extensive training of field teams and local NGOs in six countries, and fostered development of the Bangladesh national peri-natal death audit system. At WHO in Bangladesh, she supported the World Bank-funded government school health program, training district medical officers and teachers in health education and introducing HIV/AIDS education. She directed emergency programs in East Africa and managed large-scale surveys in Egypt, both funded by USAID. She has worked in long-term positions based in Bangladesh, Bolivia, Egypt, and Kenya and speaks Spanish as well as English.
