Professional Experience:
Rachael Goba has ten years of work experience in designing, implementing and coordinating Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH), gender, child protection and HIV & AIDS programs. Her current engagement is with Plan International Global Hub where she is the SRHR Learning & Development Advisor. Prior to that she was the SRHR Technical Advisor for Plan Internarional Zimbabwe. Rachael has held various positions ranging from Child Protection Coordinator to Regional Coordinator-HIV prevention & treatments services. Her work experience has contributed immensely in the improving and attainment of quality sexual reproductive health status of adolescents and young people globally. Additionally, she is national and regional trainer in adolescent friendly, gender responsive services, Planting Equality, Feminist Leadership, Comprehensive Sexuality Education and Positive Parenting trainings. Rachael carries with her experience in influencing for inclusion of diverse groups such as the LGBTIQ+. She also has psychosocial support skills and HIV/AIDS programming skills for adolescents living with HIV. Rachael is conversant with project management, results based management, proposal writing, team work and networking. She has managed various donor requirements that include PEPFAR, Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), Global fund, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), European Union, UK-AID amongst others. At national level, Rachael has led varied policy level taskforce teams which include the Zimbabwe National ASRH Strategy 2010-2015 and 2016-2020, Zimbabwe National AIDS Strategic Plan (ZNASP), National Action Plan for ending Child Marriages (2019), the National ASRH Advocacy Strategy in 2013. In addition, she was also a member of the writing team for various national SRHR documents that include the National ASRH Training Manual in 2012 and the Guidance and Counselling & Life Skills learners manual for schools (2020). In relation to consultancy work, Rachael has carried out SRHR and gender related assignments for organizations such as Oxfam, Save the Children, REPSSI and GIZ.
