I have worked with Oxfams (Spanish, Indian and Australian) for 15 years in leadership roles across diverse international geographies. I have had the fortune of setting up and nurturing operations of two international organisations in India (Oxfam Intermon and Reach to Teach).
Building organisations, developing and leading strategic directions and plans, guiding design and management of programmes at scale, managing complex change and transition, and building teams while developing leaders from within to deliver excellence are all core areas of strength for me, and it is something I am deeply passionate about. I have been involved with driving innovation and practical approaches to development by leveraging a change-focused approach in the leadership profiles I have held to date. These efforts have delivered significant and sustained impact to beneficiaries and have further strengthened my commitment to the sector.
While my resume will give you a fairly good account of my career trajectory, I would like to highlight the following competencies and experiences: - Significant experience in managing high level organizational change processes - Development of strategy plans and operationalisation of strategies - Organisational development, alignment and transformation in sync with strategic priorities and programme demands - Planning, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring of financial resources - Experience in the areas of programme quality and accountability, especially MEAL (monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning) - Developing and maintaining robust partnerships with donors – institutional, public and private - and management of donor contracts - Skills in representation and strategic communication at national and international levels with both private and public sector stakeholders - Knowledge and practical experience of working and partnering with governments and administrative systems in developing countries - Leading and building teams, performance management and team development - Experience in advocacy, campaigning and networking - Experience in safeguarding, security and risk management - Expertise in project cycle management in development and humanitarian programmes - Exposure to life and culture in several under-developed countries in Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
In my career, there are several examples of taking a practical and human approach to driving change and improving lives of individuals, families and communities. Others would describe my leadership style as authentic, for I am neither flamboyant nor loud, and my strength lies in relatability across the sprectrum. I have always taken pride in embodying the human face and the hallmarks of servant leadership of every organisation and team that I have been associated with.
