I'm a communications professional with 15 years of experience, including 12 years in international research-for-development organizations.
My experience is backed by relevant academic qualifications, including master's and bachelor's degrees in media and communications and certifications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the U.S. Department of State's Foreign Service Institute.
Over the past 13 years, I have produced high-quality content, including videos, presentations, impact stories, news articles, opinion pieces, features, and press releases, as well as managed newsletters and social media platforms to promote research-for-development work and reach the target audiences such as policymakers, donors, researchers and others.
In addition, I have organized several international events in different countries, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa region and produced marketing collaterals for such events.
I have also developed communication strategies, handled crisis communications and built strong relations with national, regional and global media outlets, thus securing coverage by CNN International, the World Economic Forum, BBC, Agence France-Presse (AFP), Deutsche Welle (DW), euronews, BBC Radio, and Bloomberg, among others.
Since November 2016, I have worked at the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) in Dubai, the UAE, as a Communications Specialist.
Before joining ICBA, I had worked as Senior Media and Communications Officer at the Strategic Marketing and Communications Department of the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in Hyderabad, India, for six years.
At ICRISAT, I fulfilled critical functions like leading media relations and outreach, social media and video production, and providing support to the Director General and other senior managers and scientists.
Prior to my job at ICRISAT, I had also worked as Assistant Media Advisor and Web Manager for one year at the United States Department of State – Embassy of the United States of America, where I was responsible for media outreach, social media, and website management.
