I am a passionate sustainability professional with impact-driven experience in leading multi-million $ developmental projects (Asia & S. America) - steering & scaling-up of transformational change programs in: lifeskills development, ESDD, GESI, CSR & MEL, circular economy & climate change sectors.
As the current COO, I lead the Barli Development Institute in its mission of building resilient societies & sustainable ecosystems by marshalling the capacities of public, private & third-sector partners (indigenous communities, developmental agencies & NGOs).

Through strategizing sustainability programs for policy-makers & empowering grassroots startups with entreprenurial skills, I have successfully orchestrated sectorwide transformational change in my 19+ yrs career.
Leveraging my project management experience, regulatory knowledge & technical skills, I have pitched & procured independent consulting projects, trained 15000+ social entrepreneurs & negotiated win-win partnerships with research institutions (Harvard University's Circle of Women), philanthropies & international funding agencies.

I began my career in the late 90s as project manager of an international program on operationalizing a policy-impacting M&E & sustainability strategy for managing India's forests. I have a Ph.D (SEZs, Economics & sustainable development) from DAVV University (Indore, India), MBA from IIFM (Bhopal, India), and a B.Sc in Environmental science from Govt. Institute of Science (Nagpur, India). My advisory & board roles include - steering the UN-FAO’s GFAR Initiative - with membership of global research & expert groups [incl. American Economic Association (USA), International Development Evaluation Association (UK), and more].

Achievements:
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams & achieved annual fundraising targets of >US$100000 for an award-winning NGO since 9+ years
• Delivered data-driven outputs in policy-impacting programs (>1millionUS$) on climate change adaptation
• Trained 1000+ state & private sector leaders in sustainability systems
• Uplifted 3000+ rural families out of poverty through training & mentoring grassroots start-ups

Specialities:
• Impact-driven negotiator with exceptional listening, verbal & writing skills (with 20+ analyses & project documents)
• Articulate communicator, adept at PR & motivating resistive public & private sector leaders (built 10+ operational synergies & translated project outputs into policy impacts)
• IT experience, with strong skills in data analytics, multimedia, Excel, SPSS, Tableau
Education:
I had my schooling in reputed schools and colleges in India (Secondary School Certificate (10th) from Somalwar High School (Nagpur Board); and Higher Secondary School certificate (12th) from Dharampeth Science College (Nagpur Board).
I graduated (B.Sc degree) from the Government Institute of Science (Nagpur University) with distinction grades (topping in overall university scores) with specialization in Environmental Science (with Botany & Chemistry). Subsequently I accomplished my Master’s degree (M.Sc) in Chemistry from the same institution, specializing in organic chemistry.
I completed my MBA (Masters - Post Graduate diploma (PGDFM) - a 2-years full-time business management course) from a premier institution: Indian Institute of Forest Management (Bhopal, India), MoEF, Government of India. (http://www.iifm.ac.in)

The Coursework grounded me in the following managerial domains:
* Management Information Systems,
* Development management and administration,
* Project management,
* Quantitative techniques,
* Organizational behaviour,
* Marketing management,
* Financial management & control
* Statistical techniques and data sciences
I also pursued sectoral specialization in: Sustainable Forest Management, Participatory methods, Silviculture, Forestry planning and legal processes, Ecosystem management, Environmental economics, Natural resource accounting, Biodiversity conservation, Environmental Impacts Assessment, among others.

After MBA, I went on to pursue my Ph.D. (focusing on social, economics & business and cross-cutting linkages with SDGs, ethics & leadership). The title of doctoral thesis is: ‘The role of good governance in achieving sustainable development': A study with special reference to Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Madhya Pradesh’. Through the dissertation, I explored how economic openness had influenced cost-benefit analysis strategies of businesses, drawing from select group of companies in a SEZ (i.e. Special Economic Zone, Indore (Pithampur). I researched the rationale and mandate of SEZs, and contrasted them with global corporate policy frameworks and developmental agendas (including the UN's Sustainable Development Goals). Drawing on historical & contemporary ethics-based principles & literature, I evolved and tested a win-win model i.e. SEVA™© (Sustainability Ethics and Values Actualisation) for the holistic development of the corporate sector in India and synergistically benefiting both the natural environment and the society. The thesis also pioneered and paved the way for a novel economic research agenda: "Socioethical Economics".

I have authored more than 20 well-received technical papers, policy case studies and research reports which were presented & published at 17+ international conferences and workshops, worldwide (covering the themes of: social and economic development, gender empowerment, capacity building, sustainability, environment & international development, and many more).
