Professional Experience:
I started my career as a banker, first in the financial market and subsequently in corporate banking in France and the Netherlands. However, interested by a career in international development, I transitioned to economic and political development by attending the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University between 2010 and 2012. I then concluded 2 assignments in the United Nations system at the Peacebuilding Commission in New York and as a Graduate consultant for the World Food Program in the Central African Republic.

Subsequently, I joined the Islamic Development Bank where I have been working for 6 years. Overall, I spearheaded innovative approaches that have successfully mobilized private capital to execute programs and concretely addressed access to finance and job concerns of small entrepreneurs in fragile countries. For example, in 2017, I participated in a team that mobilized US$32 million of multilateral funds to support 1,500 women entrepreneurs in Yemen at the apex of the conflict through a mechanism that involved local banks, multilateral institutions, and Government. Consequently, the firms supported by the project continue to sustain more than 15,600 temporary and full-time jobs. I designed and implemented the West Africa SMEs Program in Burkina Faso in 2018 and in Senegal a year later. Thus, the program has already resulted in US$1 million of additional private funds for 20 SMEs in Burkina Faso and US$16 million for 130 SMEs in Senegal.

Currently, as a Senior Policy and Partnerships Officer, I plan, oversee and implement strategic alliances with international financial institutions, intergovernmental organizations and private firms with coverage of 27 African countries. I lead engagement strategies—involving stakeholder mapping and priority analysis—and determine the relevant framework of engagement for key partners. I develop multi-year workplans and advocacy strategies to reach policy and resource mobilization targets. In addition, I head the design and implementation of trade-related capacity building and technical assistance programs. As an Expert, I contribute to expert groups and provide feedback and perspectives from lessons learnt from programs.

I am also co-founder, owner and advisor of two dynamic African start-ups. I serve as member of Executive Teams and have joint responsibility to develop the medium and long term strategic and tactical direction. I specifically support organizational capacity building growth plans, including customer data collection system and product selection processes implemented by field teams. As a Director at Paygas, the objective is to supply clean cooking fuel to 25,000 low income South Africans by 2025 and expand within Africa—to address problems of accessibility and availability that 3-billion people face worldwide. As a Strategy Advisor of Agrobiotech, the target is to ensure food security for 2 million smallholder farmers in West and Central Africa, by offering affordable plants and protecting extinct plantations through reproducing 4 varieties of disease-free staple and cash crops.
Education:
I graduated in 2012 from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York with a Master of International Affairs, during which I specialized in economic and political development with a regional specialization on Africa (fragile states). I also obtained a master’s in management with a concentration in finance in 2005 from the SKEMA (formerly CERAM) business school in Sophia Antipolis France (12th worldwide by the Financial Times 2019). Skema is part of the French Grande Ecole Programme, which is a highly competitive and selective business school programme. I also had the chance to do an MBA exchange programme for 6 months at Rutgers Business School in New Jersey in 2003. I completed high school at the Lycee Madelaine Michelis in Amiens (France), which I joined from the French School of Berlin (Germany) in 1998. Before 1996, I was in Cote d’Ivoire.
