Professional Experience:
From 2015 to 2019 I worked as Consular Officer at the Austrian Consulate General in New York. During this time I liaised with local organizations to develop and actualize strategic plans to advance both parties objectives; cultivated and maintained strong diplomatic relationships with foreign governments and local, state and federal United States governmental entities; worked handling consular issues and emergencies to support Austrian citizens; and streamlined and managed day-to-day logistics as well as logistics associated with visits from top political representatives from Austria.
From 2014 to 2015, I was a visiting researcher at Columbia University Medical Center conducting research and experiments in the field of stem cells for dental tissue regeneration.From 2010 to 2012, I worked as Postdoctoral researcher at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. During that time, I conducted research pertaining to green engineering and nanotechnology for industrial and bone tissue-engineering applications; worked with polymer, environmentalists, and tissue engineering professionals to improve research and garner a deeper grasp of related topics, and wrote and presented six scientific research papers and book chapters.
From 2006 to 2009, I worked as researcher at the Polytechnic of Turin in Italy and proposed and implemented research focused on nanotechnology and biodegradable polymers for environmentally friendly materials and green industrial applications (packaging, food packaging, transport, fire-retardant materials). I wrote and presented 17 scientific research papers and book chapters; advanced knowledge of green engineering, polymer science and nanotechnology research studies; worked with polymer, biologists and chemistry professionals to improve research and broaden my knowledge of related topics; shared research findings through national and international presentations and conferences; collaborated with engineers and project managers regarding design parameters for industrial projects. Since 2010 I have had multiple new and challenging working roles due to relocations associated with spouse employment in the diplomatic service.
Education:
I have a multidisciplinary background in the field of Nanotechnology, Materials Science, and Sustainability Management. More detailed, I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering. In 2009, I completed my Ph.D. studies in Nanotechnology of Materials. In December 2019, I completed by MBA studies in Sustainability Management.
